Match Report
Yarm School 3rd XI vs  Barnard Castle
On: Wednesday, 22 Nov 2017
Venue: Away

This match was truly a game of two halves for our girls. We had most of the game in the first half, creating some good chances but we weren't able to apply the final finish. Lucy Jones worked incredibly hard in midfield, linking our defence to attack, and just generally made life hard for the Barnard Castle girls. We won a couple of short corners towards the end of the first half but they were defended well, meaning we went into half time at 0-0. In the second half we lost our shape and Barnard Castle became the stronger team. They started to cause problems for our defence, but Jess Coapes made a number of good saves to keep us level. Unfortunately we couldn't hold on and Barnard Castle managed to sneak the ball in, thanks to a lucky deflection in the D, with just minutes to go. We picked up our intensity to try and find the equaliser but it wasn't enough and the match finished 1-0.
