Yarm 2 St Olaves 2

A performance filled with real character fromfrom the Yarm boys as they came up against a strong St Olaves B Team. The team was missing key players such as Jacob Rutter and Luke Teare who would have significantly added, but the payers that were there really stepped up to the challenge. St Olaves had a really skillful player up front who caused us a lot of problems but man of the match, Matthew McCullagh, Fergal Deane and Kaaman Birk all dealt well with him. Max Dempsey is turning into a better keeper match by match and his kicking in particular was a real asset for the home team. Adhi Dinakaran, Finn Masterman and Benji Fleming were busy throughtout but another stand out performance came from Jonathan Wood who powered his way through central midfield to score us a well deserved equaliser after conceding to a goal on the break. The game could have gone to either team, they had equal possession but Yarm probably created more of the chances as their keeper made a string of saves. They broke out and scored at the end of the second 3rd which made they boys evcen more determined and they saved their best spell to the final part of the game. Johnny Carr converted a chance with a few minutes to go making a 2-2 draw a more fitting end to the game.
