Match Report
Yarm School 1st XI vs  Barnard Castle School
On: Saturday, 16 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

This was a very good performance given that the girls had 10 with only a few minutes to go. Katie Wood then stepped up from the 2nd's and played full game for the team so thank you to her. We conceded just 90 seconds into the game so it looked like it was going to be a long afternoon but as the game went on and the team grew in confidence. Fi Weatherhead played well at the back alongside Spanner and we distributed pretty well from our defensive areas. Nao was rock solid in goal and organised her players. Amy Booth had her best game in a Yarm shirt and sent pass after pass splitting their defence and finding our forwards. Susie as always ran confidently with the ball and created problems whenever in possession. She scored from a mazy run beating two then pushing the ball just out of reach of the GK. It was great to see them celebrate a goal after so many near misses. The game finished 1-1 which for me is a very positive result given we had 10 initially and no subs to freshen up things or give the girls a breather. The team drew together and it was almost backs to the wall mentality that they were there for each other and would work for each other to get this result. I really could not have been prouder.

Results 1-1 POM-Amy Booth a Captain's performance for sure!
