Match Report
Yarm School Girls-U14A vs  Barnard Castle School
On: Saturday, 16 Sep 2017
Venue: at Home

After a slightly delayed start, the Under 14’s took to the pitch in front of a substantial crowd of home supporters. Nerves were high as they were facing a strong Barnard Castle team which they had lost to (6-0) in the 2016/17 season. The team had been set a target to try and score a goal in the first 10 minutes of the game to try and kill it off early and they didn’t disappoint ! Less than two minutes in and the Under 14’s had managed to slot a goal past an overwhelmed Barnard Castle defence. Momentum stayed with Yarm as they controlled the play and settled into the rhythm of the match . Two more goals fell with Lottie , Sophie and Evie all claiming a goal to their name in the first half.

After the half time talk, Yarm were set and ready to play before Barnard Castle had even gotten to their feet. Constant professionalism and much improved communication saw Yarm retain possession for the majority of the game with the central spine of the team feeding lots of good passes wide to allow attacks to come from all angles. More goals came our way seeing Yarm finishing the game with the cheers of the crowd ringing in their ears and the final score card reading 6-1 Yarm. A fantastic win and a strong performance allow Yarm Under 14’s to retain their unbeaten streak in the 2017/18 season.
