Match Report
Yarm School Boys-U12A vs  Silcoates School
On: Saturday, 16 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

The U12 boys managed to continue their excellent start to the season by securing a very good win against a technically sound Silcoates side on Saturday. The game started tentatively with neither side able to make use of the breakdown and get the ball out to the wings. Eventually, with some quick thinking from Andrews, we got the ball out to Grylls on the wing for the first score of the match. Silcoates were quick to equalise and remind us that this was not going to be an easy contest. We continued to pass well and trys came from Jones and Mccullagh before half time after a number of good attacking phases. Both teams upped their game in the second half and Silcoates were able to break through our defence on the try line and score again to make it 15-10. Within a few minutes, Muzawazi's quick thinking sent the ball to Wildridge who ran a try from inside our own half, demonstrating some impressive footwork. Mccullagh and Grylls then added another 2 trys to our total as we continued to attack. In the last few minutes Silcoates broke through our defence and scored. The score at the final whistle 30-15. We still have a lot to work on in training but the boys demonstrated an ability to learn quickly and take on board advice. A great game all in all.
