Yarm School Girls-U12A vs  Durham High
On: Saturday, 23 Sep 2017
Venue: at Home

Following an impressive display against Egglescliffe, we continued our good form with another convincing win against Durham High. We broke the deadlock just minutes into the game thanks to a fine finish from a tight angle by Kayla Roberts. From then on we controlled possession and got plenty of shots off at goal but a fantastic first half performance from Durham's goalkeeper meant we weren't able to add to our lead before half time. We continued to dominate possession in the second half, with impressive build up play leading to our second goal. Every player was involved in the move before Lily Harte finished the move off with a sweeping finish into the bottom corner. Our third goal was not as pretty as our first two, however persistence in front of goal paid off for Lily who picked up the rebound off the keeper, after following in her own shot, for her second of the game. As the second half went on Durham struggled to contain our wide players and this paid off as we scored two goals in quick succession. Miriam Akowuah drove hard down the wing and put in two pin-point crosses for India Dunkin and Kayla to finish off to give us a 5-0 lead heading into the final few minutes. We were able to add another before full time, with Lily completing her hat-trick with a first time finish, to end the game with a 6-0 win. This was a fantastic performance from the team, with it especially pleasing to see so many of them bringing things from training into the game.

FT result: 6-0 win PoM: Miriam Akowuah
